15 May 2024 - by Admin

Batam's Nongsa Digital Park (NDP) has welcomed a new investor for the development of its digital economic zone. BW Digital, a subsidiary of the global energy and maritime conglomerate BW Group headquartered in Singapore, along with Citramas Group, announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly develop the digital ecosystem in NDP Batam.

This strategic partnership follows BW Digital's acquisition of over 55,000 square meters of land within Citramas' Nongsa Digital Park in Batam. The purpose is to establish its flagship data center in Southeast Asia, strengthening the Asia-Pacific digital infrastructure portfolio.

With a capacity of up to 80 MW, the data center is poised to meet the region's burgeoning demand. It will be designed to provide scalable solutions for enterprise workloads, cloud services, and AI applications while aiding customers in achieving their carbon neutrality goals.

The establishment of this state-of-the-art data center signifies a significant step towards advancing Batam's position as a digital hub in the region. The collaboration between BW Digital and Citramas Group underscores the growing importance of Batam in the digital economy landscape, leveraging its strategic location and infrastructure for future growth and innovation.
