JAKARTA - The government strongly supports the property sector to grow and develop, given its great influence on the national economy. Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi said property was one of the sectors that contributed to the 3.51 percent economic growth that occurred in the third quarter of 2021.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning, Head of the National Land Agency, Sofyan A Djalil, said that because it has a big impact on the economy, the government is very supportive of the property sector. The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and ATR/BPN will continue to innovate to make land affairs easier, faster, and more efficient, and provide legal certainty. "That way, it can help business people in the property sector so that in the future the property sector can grow even more," said Sofyan. The government's support for the property sector received appreciation from the Deputy Chairperson of the REI DPP, Hari Gani.

REI will continue to oversee the Job Creation Law which can encourage the property sector, can be applied as soon as possible. "Besides that, REI also hopes that the Urban Law is quickly made so that developers who develop township housing have a legal umbrella," he said. To encourage housing growth, the government supports the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) for low-income people (MBR).
Referring to the 2022 target, the PUPR Ministry targets public housing financing through the FLPP scheme of Rp 23 trillion or 200 thousand units. A strategic step from the supply side, the Ministry of PUPR gave a special task to Perum Perumnas to accelerate the provision of affordable housing.
Then the government also encourages the development of vertical housing with the concept of Transit Oriented Development (TOD) in urban areas, increases the availability of land banks, and provides housing construction loans by PT Sarana Multi Financial (SMF). The government targets an increase in families with suitable housing by 70%, from only 56% or equivalent to 11 million families through the One Million Houses Program, which President Joko Widodo launched in 2015.
